Working with TechKTM

What kind of clients do you work with?

Mid-sized enterprises and growing technology companies, mostly in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and professional services. We work with organisations that have real systems in production and real constraints — not primarily with early-stage startups looking for a first build.

How do engagements usually start?

With a short discovery phase — typically one to three weeks — where we assess the current state and produce a costed, sequenced plan. You own that plan whether or not you continue with us. We would rather scope honestly upfront than discover the real problem in month four.

How do you price work?

Fixed-scope pricing where requirements are genuinely well defined, and time-and-materials with a capped budget where discovery is part of the work. We will tell you which one your project actually is rather than fitting it to whichever model suits us.

How long does a typical project take?

Most delivery phases run 8–16 weeks and produce something usable at the end. Larger programmes are sequenced into phases of that size rather than run as a single multi-year effort, so you can reprioritise or stop between phases.

Do you work with our existing engineering team?

Frequently, and it is often the better model. Embedded delivery alongside your engineers transfers capability while the work ships. We also run fully independent delivery where that fits better.

What technologies do you work with?

Primarily TypeScript, Python, Java and .NET; React and Next.js on the front end; AWS, Azure and GCP for infrastructure; Snowflake, Databricks and PostgreSQL for data; and OpenAI, Anthropic and open models for AI. Where you have an established stack, we work within it.

Who owns the code and IP?

You do. All work product, source code and documentation produced during an engagement belongs to the client, and that is written into the agreement rather than left implied.

How do you handle security and confidentiality?

NDAs as standard, least-privilege access to only the systems required, and security designed into architecture rather than reviewed at the end. For regulated environments we work within your data residency and audit requirements from the first design session.

Do you provide ongoing support after delivery?

Yes — through managed services with a defined SLA, or a lighter retainer for advisory and occasional work. We also hand over properly so you are not dependent on us: documentation, architecture decision records and team enablement are part of delivery, not an upsell.

Do you offer IT staffing as well as project delivery?

Yes. We place vetted engineers, architects and specialists on contract, contract-to-hire or direct placement — screened by people who have held the role rather than matched on résumé keywords.

Where are you based, and do you work remotely?

We are a US firm based in the Maryland & Washington DC metro. We deliver remotely for clients worldwide, run engagements on the client's timezone, and meet in person for discovery, workshops and key milestones — routinely so for clients in Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia.

How quickly can you start?

Discovery engagements can usually begin within one to two weeks. Larger delivery phases depend on team availability, and we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.
